New Beginnings

I hope you all have yummy cupcakes tomorrow.. and maybe chocolate bunnies.. and peeps and egg salad (or something like that)… and fun.

Winter on the lake.  From about 2008.

My Dad with my youngest son.  I have been feeling nostalgic today.  I miss my family… the greater family.. my Dad, Mom, aunts and uncles.. and cousins.

Light falls on a friend’s living room.  The artwork is that of his father who committed suicide in the mid 60s, or so.  He worked as a commercial artist for Ford and also sold his paintings around Detroit and Northern Michigan. 

I own one large drawing… pastels and it looks like a cave painting.  It’s beautiful. 

Utah is a pretty state.. at least parts of it are.  The only negative experience I’ve had there was at a place called Cove Fort.  It’s a Mormon stop-over place from their migration West. 

The people there looked at us like we were about to kill them… or were from outer space.  And they treated us in a very aloof and unfriendly way.  I don’t know what their deal was.  My husband and I dress a bit ‘un-Mormon-like’… and my hubby has a pony tail… but, I decided they were bad representatives for their state and for Mormonism in general. 

But everywhere else I’ve been and everyone I’ve talked to has been fantastic.. in the extreme.  Off topic from the photo… but whatever.

I bought my niece a Lensbaby for her Nikon. She’s quite a good photographer and I thought she’d like it judging from her rather romantic style.    I love my Lensbaby.

Throwback Thursday… 1969 someplace in Colorado.

Foggy day in Long Beach.  It’s pretty and cooling.

The boy learns how to buzz and make sounds with the trumpet.  He LOVES it, of course.  It’s loud and blasting… and fun.
