I want bookshelves

This duplex we rented has no shelving for books. Ideally, I’d build a whole wall for my books.  We have lots of them, in boxes, in cupboards, stacked on nightstands, under beds, on top of the piano… lots of them.  I need and want some place for all the books.. some of the things I love best in the world.

Also, when I go into a home that has NO books in sight, I automatically think less of the people who live there.  I could be wrong but it is, nonetheless, a judgement I make. 

Having grown up in a home where the only books to be found were mine, in my room.  And then being married to a librarian for 7 plus years, my life was books and bookshelves.  We were always building and buying shelves, creating spaces for books.

I even still own dictionaries.  That’s how retro I am.
